The Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetal Diseases organized a day-long program outside the hospital to entertain Thalassemia patients and their families this morning at the Seventy Park in Sana’a.

The organization of the entertainment program on the sidelines of the festival of speech and art held by the Yemeni Society yesterday on the occasion of the World Day of Thalassemia, the eighth of May under the slogan (health .. wellness of the homeland) in order to get patients out of the routine of hospitals and the atmosphere of treatments.

Thalassemia is a chronic genetic disease that afflicts families with physical and moral burdens and consumes all their time in hospitals and clinics and distances them from the places of fun and recreation they often need as psychological support.

Al Khayati also appreciated the efforts of Yemen’s leading telecommunications companies Yemen Mobile, SPFON, MTN and WAY to raise awareness and health education about thalassemia and genetic blood diseases and the importance of pre-nuptial medical examination.
