Organizing an awareness campaign to introduce the dangers of Thalassemia in the Red Martyr School

The Red Martyr School in Sana’a organized an awareness campaign to identify the dangers of Thalassemia and other hereditary blood diseases and ways of preventing them.

The event, organized in cooperation with the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia Patients, included a school radio and distributed hundreds of awareness leaflets on the disease, its complications and negative effects on the individual, family, society and the state.

At the event, which was attended by the Director of the Center for the care of Thalassemia patients Dr. Mukhtar Ismail, the child Anas Nasser, a patient with the word about the suffering of patients and their pain in the absence of medicines, solutions and medical supplies.

The Ambassador of Thalassemia patients, the child Anas, addressed a number of issues related to thalassemia, the most important of which is the need for blood transfusion, the use of drugs and regular periodic examinations for life.

He pointed out during his speech that the reason for the suffering of patients is due to parents’ ignorance of pre-marital medical examination, praising the role of his parents in his care and attention.

Anas Nasser, who is only eight years old, is a member of the awareness team on the dangers of the disease and ways to prevent it in the Thalassemia and Genetics Care Center.

At the end of the event, which comes within the 11th annual awareness campaign for Thalassemia risks, the director of the Thalassemia and Genetal Care Center, along with the follow-up officer, member of the administrative board of the Association, Mr. Saleh Al-Osaimi, and the Public Relations Officer, Abdullah Ibrahim, Organizations for effectiveness.
