Thalassemia patients celebrate their international day in the absence of medicines and medical supplies

The Yemen Society of Thalassemia and Genetically Dysfunction patients organized a festive speech and an open day for hundreds of patients on the occasion of the 8th International Day of Thalassemia on May 8, 2018.

During the celebration, which was held under the slogan “For a healthier childhood in cooperation with Magical City, the President of the Society Dr. Ahmed Shamsan congratulated thalassemia patients on their international day, wishing them a stable health and lasting well-being.

The President of the Association said that the celebration of this occasion comes in the face of many challenges facing the Association and the Center for the care of Thalassemia patients, primarily the lack of medicines and medical supplies and the exit of the National Center for blood transfusion and research, which is the main artery of patients for readiness because of the missile targeting by the aggression.

He added that the cessation of national center and its readiness to have serious implications for patients with thalassemia and genetic blood, which is to obtain unsafe blood from others may cause serious diseases and viruses.

Shamsan called on the bodies and organizations working in the field of health to work quickly to restore the national center to its readiness and repair the damage and damage caused by the missile targeting to save the lives of thousands of patients.

At the end of the ceremony, the president of the association, along with a number of members of the administrative board, honored the Executive Director of Magic City, Anis Al-Kameem, and the Marketing Manager, Mr. Abdullah Al-Matarab, in recognition of their cooperation and hosting of patients at their center.
