Drop of blood .. to revive life

Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Hemoglobinopathies in cooperation with the National Center for Blood Transfusion and Research and Al-Jazira College of Medical and Technical Sciences performed Annual Blood Donation Campaign
In the event, which was held under the slogan “Drop of blood .. to revive life”, which was permeated by many technical and awareness items, the researcher and volunteer at the Center for Thalassemia Patients Rasha al-Noud pointed out the importance of establishing such campaigns in universities, institutes and youth circles, especially that patients with thalassemia need continuous and permanent blood transfusion and stressed the need for a pre-marriage examination because of its great role in reducing the incidence of new infections.

For her part, Hanadi Al-Sanawi, a member of the awareness-raising team in the association pointed out to the success of the event, praised the positive interaction of the students with Thalassemia and Other Hemoglobinopathies case, and their enthusiasm to do pre-marriage tests.

The campaign, which was attended by a number of professors and students of the College, organized charity work, which will benefit the patients of thalassemia and genetic blood.
