An awareness campaign to introduce the dangers of thalassemia and sickle cell anemia

Coinciding with the International Day of Sickle Cell Anemia on June 19th and under the slogan (Donating Blood Saves Life) and sponsored by the National Center for Blood Transfusion and its Researches, Al Zahrawi Institute for Medical Training is holding an awareness campaign in cooperation with Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders; To define the risks of thalassemia and sickle cell anemia and ways to prevent them.

The campaign targets the staff and a number of the center’s students, during that an awareness lecture was given by Mr. Abdullah Al-Jadaei, head of the public relations and media section at the association, through that there are distributing brochures, reviewing videos and medical advice.

This will be followed by a blood donation campaign for the benefit of the children of this grieving segment, on Thursday 27/6/2019 in the Institute’s yard.

These campaigns come out of a sense of responsibility towards the various segments of society and patients in particular, and the need to stand by them. The Association also calls on fellow citizens to interact with the blood donation campaign. Because it benefits the sick and saves their life from death.
