Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders participated last Tuesday, November 12, 2019 in the scientific symposium organized by the Department of Dentistry at the University of Civilization, with the participation and attendance of a number of doctors from various Yemeni universities.

During the seminar Mr. Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Jada’i, Head of Public Relations and Media Department, presented Awareness lecture, during scientific discussions, to introduce the dangers of thalassemia and genetic blood diseases and ways to avoid them, also warned attendees to the need to contribute to the awareness of the community to conduct early pre- marriage test; being the best way to prevent future generations of The risk of developing these chronic diseases.

This participation is the result of the efforts exerted by the awareness and education section of the society through coordination and follow-up with universities, centers and scientific institutes to establish events and awareness campaigns; to contribute to raising the level of community awareness.

Moreover, Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders Center received on Saturday, 16 November 2019, third level students of the Department of Therapeutic Nutrition at the University of Science and Technology.

This scientific and educational visit comes within the framework of getting acquainted with the services provided by the center, knowing the patients who are suffering, as well as studying their nutritional status, familiarizing their families with the appropriate foods that are recommended to be eaten, in addition to the foods they should avoid.

In a related context, the management of the Center expressed their constant and continuous welcome to such awareness visits, which constitute a knowledge to our children, and contribute to enhancing awareness of the seriousness of these chronic diseases, and how to avoid them.
