The Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hemoglobinopathies celebrates the International Day of Sickle Cell Anemia

On the occasion of the International Day of Sickle Cell Anemia, the 19 of June, and under the slogan (We stand with them alleviate their suffering and pain), the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Patients, today Wednesday, June 19, 2019 in the capital, Sana’a, revived the International Day of Sickle Cell Anemia patients, by holding an entertainment party for patients with blood fractures Genetic.

The program was attended by Prof. Nasser Al-Safi Al-Kahili, Director General of the Social Affairs and Labor Office, Dr. Mutahar Abbas Al-Marouni, Director General of the Health and Population Office in the Municipality, as well as Dr. Nour Baabad, a member of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Professor Muhammad Al-Araafi, Director of the Social Guidance and Juvenile House in the Secretariat, and a number of media professionals and artists. Those who suffer from these chronic diseases, calling on those concerned to activate the law of early examination (pre-marital examination). For his part, Prof. Nasser Al-Kahali expressed his pride in attending the Association's headquarters and participating in the revival of this fragrant day, explaining that the lack of awareness is one of the most important causes of the spread of these diseases, as confirmed by Prof. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Ansi, Vice President of the Supreme Council of the Society, stressed the need for special attention to this segment, and thanked everyone for their efforts to attend the event. Mutahhar Al-Marouni said that the Health and Population Office in the Capital Secretariat is ready to facilitate the process of obtaining medicines and address the concerned authorities and organizations, expressing its permanent and continuous interaction with the children of this segment, stressing the importance of conducting a medical examination before marriage to prevent childhood from this chronic disease.

The injured children had their expressive and sad word delivered by the talented child: Anas Nasser Abdullah, reviewing their daily pain and calling on everyone to stand against the spread of these diseases and their danger to future generations.

As explained by Prof. Jamil Ali Al-Khayati, Director General of the Association, on the continuation of the entertainment program on Wednesday and Thursday, distributed among the categories of children, high school graduates and universities, pointing out that adopting such an issue is a religious, humanitarian and national duty, indicating that there is a distinguished constellation of people with these diseases who have completed their secondary and university studies and joined In the labor market, bypassing all difficulties and challenges.
During the entertainment program, many entertainment, poetry and other paragraphs were covered, which won the approval of the attendees.
