By Raising Awareness and Donating Blood, We Contribute to Protecting and Saving Generations

On Sunday morning Feb. 8th 2021, the College of Medical Sciences at Al-Hikma University and the (Hope Initiative) carried out a campaign to donate blood for the benefit of patients with Thalassemia and hereditary blood diseases in coordination and cooperation with Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders, and the National Center for Blood Transfusion and its Researches, at The university courtyard, under the supervision of the Technical Director of the National Center for Blood Transfusion and its Researches, Dr. Adnan Al-Hakimi.

 On Wednesday, Feb. 4th 2021, an awareness event on Thalassemia and genetic blood disorders was held, attended by Prof. Mukhtar Dael, President of the University, and the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Lotfi Al-Maqtari, and the Dean of the College of High Studies, Prof. Radwan Al-Najjar, and Director of the Center for Thalassemia and Genetic blood Disorders Dr. Mukhtar Ismail. Also, a number of university professors and students. The program included many awareness and introductory sections on these chronic diseases …!

   In the same context, the director of Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders Mr. Jameel Ali Al-Khayati expressed the association’s thanks and gratitude for the presidency and administration of the university and the “Hope” Initiative, as well as the National Center for Blood Transfusion and its researches. For their keenness and adoption of the issue of patients with thalassemia and genetic blood diseases, calling for the continuation of the implementation and adoption of such activities and programs.
