The Society holds an awareness campaign on Thalassemia risk at the Azal University for Human Development.

The Yemeni Association of Thalassemia and hemoglobinopathiespatients held an awareness event this morning at the Azal University for Human Development.

The event, which was carried out in coordination with the General Union of the University, is part of the awareness and education program to identify the risks of thalassemia and genetic blood, which the association has adopted since its establishment in 2000.

In the ceremony, which was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Dr. / Tawheed Moffi and a number of faculty at the university, the follow-up official in the Society Professor Saleh Al-Osaimi thanked the university presidency and the General Union of students for their support and stop them with Thalassemia patients and genetic blood.
During his speech, Osaimi addressed many common misconceptions about the nature of Thalassemia and how to prevent it.

The follow-up official of the association stressed the importance of the role of students in raising awareness of the dangers of these chronic diseases and work to limit their spread.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University, Dr. Tawheed Movi about the serious complications caused by the disease, adding that all the treatments and drugs used by the patient are only sedatives and analgesics for complications.

Moffi stressed that the best treatment to avoid thalassemia and genetic blood is prenatal examination.

On the nature of the event, the President of the General Union of Students of the University of Azal, Ibrahim Ahmed Suleiman, said that it will continue to support patients with thalassemia and hemoglobinopathies.

He explained that the effectiveness of the day will be special charity bazaar for patients with thalassemia andhemoglobinopathies.

The president stressed that the event aims to mobilize students to donate blood for Thalassemia patients and genetic blood in the coming weeks
