Course in Medical Terminology and Thalassemia Awareness

A training course in medical terminology and awareness of cholera and thalassemia was concluded on Tuesday, 2/7/2019 at Al-Razi University, targeting 40 students from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Department of English, held in cooperation It was established by the government of independent Yemen youth in cooperation with Al-Razi University

Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders has participated in the training session which lasted on Monday and Tuesday 1-2 July 2019, where Mr.  Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Jada’i gave an awareness lecture on Thalassemia and hereditary blood in which he talked about Thalassemia disease and Sickle cell anemia (causes, symptoms, complications, and prevention).

The association’s participation in this training course contributes to raising students’ awareness of the risks of chronic diseases and sensing the importance of attention to the category of youth being the pillar of the homeland and its strength to create a conscious and educated generation facing the challenges of time and keep pace with the recent development in medical science and scientific work and the need to conduct early medical examination before marriage to prevent generations from thalassemia and hereditary blood diseases.

The Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Dhubaibi, Minister of Public Health and Population in the Government of Yemeni Independent Youth thanked the Society and its staff for providing health care, psychological and social services to patients and raising the awareness of society about the dangers of this incurable disease. The Society was honored with a certificate of appreciation for the role it plays in caring for patients and educating young people on the importance of conducting early medical examination before marriage.

At the end of the program, the Association sent a letter of thanks to the Prime Minister of Youth and Razi University for their efforts in activating the role of youth through the establishment of effective training courses as well as attention to the cause of thalassemia patients and Genetic Blood Disorders.
