Today, Saturday 15/2/2020, students of the laboratory department at Al-jazira College of Medical and Technical Sciences visited the Society, they were introduced to the departments of the Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders Center and knew the services provide to patients.

Mr. Jameel Ali Al-Khayati, General Director of the Society, ” There are countries that have exceeded the presence of childbirth cases infected with any of genetic blood diseases, because of their commitment to conducting an early medical examination before marriage”. He said, and expressing sincere thanks to everyone who performs this inexpensive medical procedure, in order to protect the community.

Mr. Abdullah Al-Jadiae, head of the Public relations and media Section presented an awareness lecture about thalassemia and genetic blood diseases In terms of the definitions, the causes, appearance, the effects, and ways to avoid them, he was stressing the importance of conducting pre-marriage tests, as it is the most appropriate and most important way to prevent infection with these chronic diseases.

For its part, Ms. Rabab Tawfiq, social affairs officer explained that it is the community’s duty to support the awareness efforts of the association’s staff by raising the level of health awareness among all family members, as well as a permanent and continuous standing with the children of this bereaved group.
