Coinciding with the world Thalassemia Day , 8th of May and under the auspices of His Excellency , the Minister of Public Health and Population , Prof. Dr.Taha Ahmed Al-Mutawakel and the Office of Public Health and Population,and the office of Social Affaires and Labor in the capital’s secretariat and under the slogan ” Towards Complete Care and Comprehensive Prevention “, the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Blood Patients with the National Center for Blood Transfusion and Research , revived today , Monday ,Shawwal 18,1444 AH, corresponding to May 8th 2023 AD this occasion and lunch a voluntary campaign to donate blood for the benefit of patients with thalassemia and genetic blood and other patients in need of blood and its derivatives.
On the other hand, an entertainment event and an open day for children were held , which included a number of recreational activities.
This event had a great impact on drawing smiles and joy on the faces of the children and their parents who were present , although some of them needed blood transfusions on this day.
On this occasion , the society congratulates all patients in our country , calling on them to coexist positively with their illness and we say to you that we will remain faithful to the covenant as you entrusted us , striving diligently to achieve complete care and comprehensive prevention . We also appeal to the people of our beloved Yemeni society in general and the concerned authorities in particular to interact with the suffering of patients to meet their needs, improve health care services and provide safe blood , they will live by the river of your giving , hoping that the various relevant authorities will strengthen efforts to prevent these chronic diseases.
In conclusion , let us not forget to extend our sincere thanks to the humanitarian society’s work team and the guests from the official authorities and the media participating in reviving this occasion and interested in this humanitarian and national cause .
