The Society carries out an awareness program on the dangers of Thalassemia at Al-Jazira College of Medical Sciences

The Yemeni Association of Thalassemia and Genetically Dysfunction Patients has implemented a program to raise awareness of the risks of thalassemia and hereditary blood fractures at Al-Jazira College of Medical and Technical Sciences.

In the awareness program organized by Al Jazeera College in collaboration with the Association, Dr Rasha Al-Noud, researcher and academic specialist in the field of hereditary blood diseases, talked about the disease, its causes and complications, and its health effects on the individual, the family and the community.

For his part, Mr. Ali Abdul Samadi, branch head of the association, spoke about the society and the most important services provided to patients, reviewing the most important stages of the association since its establishment in 2000.

The awareness program concluded with a blood donation campaign for thalassemia patients and genetic blood in coordination with the National Center for Blood Transfusion and Research.

On the sidelines of the awareness program, the students of Al Jazeera College also organized a charity bazaar whose proceeds are in favor of the patients
