A week full of awareness campaigns to prevent thalassemia and genetic blood diseases

Last Thursday, November 21, 2019, Ar-Rasheed Modern schools students visited the Society with the Supervisor of the schools teacher Ashwaq Sheikh, and health supervisors teacher Abeer Mutair and teacher Jumana Al Kharashi, where they got acquainted with the sections of the Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Center, and what it offers to patients.

They were greeted by Mr. Abdullah Al-Jadaie, Head of Relations and Media Section at the Society, who gave them an awareness lecture to introduce the dangers of thalassemia and genetic blood diseases and ways to prevent them.

On the other hand, Ar Rasheed Schools English branch set up awareness campaign on Sunday 24th of November 2019 in coordination and cooperation with the Society to raise awareness about the dangers of thalassemia and genetic blood diseases and how to avoid them.

An awareness corner was also held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Seeds in preparation for the awareness event to be held at the institute, in coordination and cooperation with the Awareness Department of the Society.

In addition, students of the Department of Nutrition at the University of Science and Technology on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, carried out a nutritional day for 70 patients of Thalassemia and genetic blood disorders, As well as the definition of the families of patients with appropriate food that patients should eating.

The administration of the Society thanks all those who have played a role in the success of these awareness campaigns, which contribute to raising awareness and educating the community members about the seriousness of these chronic diseases and how to avoid them.
