A week full of awareness of the dangers of thalassemia and genetic blood disorders, and the importance of a premarital examination

Students of the Cultural Committee of Kuwait High School and students of the Laboratory Department at the Faculty of Medicine, Sana’a University, made separate awareness visitings to Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders Center. They were received by the Head of Public Relations and Media Department at the Association Mr. Abdullah Al-Jadaei. During those visitings, they learned about the center’s departments and the services that provided to patients.

Whereas, the General Director of the Association, Mr. Jameel Ali Al-Khayati praised the students and appreciated their eagerness to attend and benefit, and to learn about the suffering of patients with Thalassemia and hereditary blood diseases, calling them to be flashlights of awareness in the community by raising awareness of the seriousness of these chronic diseases and the need to avoid them. He confirmed that the importance of conducting an early medical examination before marriage is being the only way to protect future generations from the risk of thalassemia and genetic blood disorders.

Mr. Al-Jadaei also gave an educational lecture for students about thalassemia and genetic blood diseases, methods of spread, risks, and ways to prevent them, ” The safety of one of the two parties is enough to produce healthy children, and it will be known by conducting a pre-marital examination” He said.
