Donate blood and make the world come alive
Today, Monday, June 14, 2021, the National Center for Blood Transfusion and Research and the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Diseases held an event on the occasion of the 14th World Blood Donor Day, and the 19th International Day for Sickle Cell Anemia, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Public Health and Population Prof. Dr. / Taha Al-Mutawakel, and under the slogan “Donate blood and make the world come alive,” and in the presence of the President of the Society, Dr. Ahmed Shamsan Al-Maqrami, and the Director General of the Assembly, a. Jamil Ali Al-Khayati, Director of the National Center for Blood Transfusion and Research, Dr. Ayman Al-Shahari and the medical team working at the center.
Earlier, the association and the center called on artists, actors, philanthropists and people with compassionate hearts to mobilize a large crowd to donate blood for the benefit of thalassemia patients, hereditary hemochromatosis and other patients, who are falling down like autumn trees; As a result of the current conditions and the lack of their medicines.
The invitation was answered by the great Yemeni artist / Ayoub Tarish Al-Absi, the artist / Hammoud Al-Sama, the able media / Abdul Salam Al-Shuraihi, and a number of legal personalities and voluntary donors from the fellow citizens.
It is worth noting that the blood donation campaign continues on the rest of the week from 8:30 in the morning until 12:30 in the afternoon, except for Friday, at the National Center for Blood Transfusion and Research, south of the Seventy Hospital for Maternity and Childhood, Sana’a – and its branches.
Thousands of thalassemia patients and hereditary hemophilia suffer tragic and extremely difficult conditions. Due to their lack of medicines, the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Patients is making great efforts to alleviate their suffering and the suffering of their parents, and it strives to provide the most important medicines and free examinations.
