The Yemeni Association for Thalassemia participates in the third conference of the Arabic Thalassemia Associations Forum.

The association, represented by Dr. Ahmad Shamsan and some members of the administrative staff, participated in the workshop that took place today, Friday noon June 18th, at the Zoom Stage. This workshop was aimed to provide all whom it may concern with the TIF report, discuss it, come up with an agreement about the biggest challenges that face the region and paraphrase a regional strategy that guarantees the effectiveness of the Arabic Forum to develop the current situations in all the countries.

The participants listened to the report, the challenges that face the services provided to the patients in the region countries and the discussions done by some of those who attended the workshop.

Mr. Ala’ Mohammad Al.Mesbahi, who represented the patients, clarified the patients’ suffering all around Yemen within the last years and the continuous suffering up-to-date. Such suffering was / is resulted by the lack of medicine, especially Deferasirox 500mg Tablets and Deferrioxamine mesilate 500mg Vial (Disferal).

Mr.Ala’ begged whom it may concern to provide those necessary types of medicine to keep the patients alive and healthful and to avoid any complications.

At the end, the participants agreed to raise the most important challenges and suggestions to the TIF and the Arabic Forum in order to support the association to develop the provided services and support all the efforts to protect the childhood from such chronic diseases.
