Serious steps to combat thalassemia and genetic hemolysis .
“Awareness workshop for notaries, legal secretaries and media professionals”
The Yemeni Association for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Patients in the capital, Sana’a, concluded the awareness workshop for (200) notaries, legal trustees and media professionals, which was under the slogan “We are all responsible for protecting future generations”, which was organized in coordination and cooperation with the Documentation Sector of the Ministry of Justice, and under the generous patronage of His Excellency the Minister Justice Judge / Nabil Al-Azzani, and His Excellency the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, in cooperation with the World Health Organization, during the period from 17-20 Jumada Al-Awwal 1444 AH / 11-14 December 2022 AD.

This workshop aimed to familiarize the participants with the dangers of thalassemia and hereditary blood disorders, their complications, and ways to prevent them.

Everyone emphasized the need for concerted societal and official efforts to limit the spread of these chronic diseases by raising awareness among community members and those about to get married of the need for early examination and medical advice before marriage.
The workshop, which was carried out at the Ministry of Justice, included a visit to the treatment center for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Patients to see closely the suffering of patients and their constant needs for medicines, blood, and medical, social and psychological care provided by the center.
