Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Diseases Are Risks Threaten The Community

Queen Arwa University in coordination and cooperation with Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood disorders held on Tuesday 19th of November 2019 for the second consecutive year a charity awareness event to identify the dangers of thalassemia and genetic blood disorders and ways to avoid them.

During the event Mr. Abdullah Al-Jadaei, Head of Relations and Media Section at the Association, presents a lecture which aims to raise awareness about genetic diseases, their severity and symptoms, how to avoid them and the effects they have on patients, their families and society, stressing the importance of conducting early pre-marriage test as the best ways to avoid these chronic diseases.

Attended the event Dr. Ghassan Hashim, Vice President of the University, and Mrs. Mariam Mohammed, the General Registrar, a number of deans of the faculties and heads of departments at the university and a large crowd of students, and all of them confirmed their standing and continuous supporting of the children of this bereaved group.

The management of the society, while appreciating the efforts exerted by the organizers of this event, wishes to continue such activities in the rest of the universities; it contributes to the fight against thalassemia and genetic blood disorders, and sensitization of the community.

The event was accompanied by a charity bazaar that benefits for Thalassemia and genetic blood disorders projects.
